in november, elon musk let trump back on twitter. this was an elon poll, in which 52% of respondents voted to have him back. trump responded he was working on truth social (his version of twitter)

the decision to restore trump’s account was met with mixed reactions from twitter users. aoc and the naacp were both *very* against the move, saying it would bring disaster

oh please, trump’s twitter account is now worse than the iranian gvt, taliban members, putin, and xi?? even if you don’t like trump, there are plenty of people on twitter who are worse -- hot air

an nyt op thinks the concern is justified: trump’s return = more misinfo, more hate speech, more political violence, and the breakdown of democracy

but the atlantic tells people to chill: this is all a ploy for attention. elon and trump are kinda impossible to ignore, but neither should be front page news. besides, trump hasn’t even tweeted!

otoh, a cnn op thinks trump probably *will* start tweeting eventually: truth social could be about to go under. he could be forced to make the switch soon

an msnbc op: yup, trump’s coming back. and whether it helps or hurts his chances of reelection, it’s def a bad thing for americans everywhere

but the boston herald ed board says trump’s return is a win for free speech: he never should’ve been banned in the first place

and a bloomberg op thinks democrats should celebrate trump’s return: trump is great at unifying the democratic party. it could help dems win in 2024
